Meditation at School

Meditation is an invaluable life skill. In schools, it can help both teachers and students in numerous ways.

It can help resolve learning difficulties and improve relationships. It teaches students the values of concentration (and relaxation) and the power of persistence.

For high school and university students in pre-exam stress mode, it is an ideal tool for dealing with nervousness and worry and for optimising study and exam-time.

As it addresses all these issues at a very fundamental level the effects are bound to spread to all aspects of life.

Additionally, teachers who learn how to meditate become more effective - more compassionate, patient and understanding - less emotionally reactive, prone to frustration and hopelessness.

Teachers who understand meditation can spontaneously guide students into a calm and meditative state - thereby diffusing upsets and unruliness and guiding students into the optimal state for learning. It's a very useful tool, which can be integrated into any class situation or practiced alone, in its own right.
